RemNote

RemNote is a study and note-taking app that combines outline notes, PDF annotation and flashcards with spaced repetition. You write notes and turn parts of them into flashcards inside the same document, then review those cards on a schedule designed to improve retention.

Its AI tools generate flashcards, quizzes and summaries from PDFs, notes and other sources, add an AI explanation to each card, and offer an AI tutor chat about your notes. Other features include many card types such as image occlusion and fill-in-the-blank, an Exam Scheduler that builds a daily study plan from your exam date, handwritten notes with text conversion, a lecture recorder, references and tags, and tables and databases.

It runs on desktop, iOS and Android with offline mode and syncing. RemNote is aimed at university students, especially in medicine and other memorization-heavy fields, as well as lifelong learners.

RemNote is freemium. The official site describes a free plan with core features such as note-taking, flashcards, spaced repetition and PDF annotation, with paid upgrades adding advanced AI tools, backups and customizations. The pages we read did not list prices.

A third-party tracker (CostBench, last verified September 2026) reports Pro at $8 per month or $96 per year billed annually, and Pro with AI at $18 per month or $216 per year, with no discount for annual billing. An older official help article from 2023 listed Pro at $8 per month annually and $10 monthly, so prices have changed over time; confirm on remnote.com.

The tracker also reports a 25 percent automatic education discount for students and educators, and AI credit overages at $10 for 20,000 credits. Some users say features have moved from free to paid tiers over time.
