Mintlify is the AI-native knowledge platform powering documentation for more than 20,000 companies worldwide, including Anthropic, Microsoft, Amazon, Coinbase, AT&T, HubSpot, Zapier, Replit, and Perplexity. Founded in 2022 by Han Wang (CEO) and Hahnbee Lee at Cornell University and backed by Y Combinator (W22), Mintlify was built from the ground up for an era when documentation is read by AI agents as much as by humans. In April 2026 it raised a $45M Series B led by a16z and Salesforce Ventures at a $500M valuation, bringing total funding to $67M. The company also acquired RAG infrastructure provider Trieve in July 2025 to power its AI search capabilities.

Mintlify's platform covers the full documentation lifecycle: teams write in Markdown or MDX, sync from GitHub, and Mintlify generates fast, branded documentation sites with an AI Assistant chat widget, interactive API playgrounds from OpenAPI specs, MCP server support, and analytics covering both human and agent traffic. A Writing Agent automatically updates documentation when code changes; pre-built Automations handle changelog generation, AI translations, SEO audits, and content sync in two clicks. On August 6, 2026, Mintlify launched Mintlify Index — a natural language retrieval layer aggregating 9,000+ Mintlify-powered docs sites into a unified interface that AI coding agents can query, making the documentation web machine-readable at scale.

Mintlify's positioning has evolved from a docs hosting platform to the knowledge infrastructure layer for the agentic web. As AI coding agents increasingly select libraries and APIs based on documentation quality, Mintlify's reach — 300M+ human visitors and 2B+ agent visits per year on 99.99% uptime — makes it the de facto documentation standard for companies building for the agent era. Mintlify has three tiers. The Starter plan is free with 5 editor seats, custom domain, web editor, authentication, MCP server, and API playground — no AI agent features. The first month of Pro AI credits is included when upgrading.

Pro costs $450/month (less on annual billing) with unlimited editor seats, all Starter features, the AI Writing Agent, AI Assistant, Automations, preview deployments, admin APIs, and 10,000 AI credits/month. Additional credits cost $0.01 each; credit packs are also available for high-volume sites.

Enterprise is custom-priced and adds SSO, SCIM, RBAC, a performance SLA, advanced insights, audit logs with streaming, BYOK, EU hosting, session IP allowlist, security and legal reviews, custom SLAs, self-hosting, analytics data warehouse streaming, custom developer portals, migration services, dedicated customer success, and 24/7 incident monitoring. Committed volume discounts are available on AI credits.
