SOUNDRAW is an AI music generator that produces original, royalty-free instrumental tracks for video creators, podcasters, filmmakers, game developers, and independent musicians. Founded in February 2020 in Tokyo by Daigo Kusunoki, the platform lets users pick a genre, mood, tempo, and desired length, after which its proprietary AI composes multiple full-arrangement variations in seconds. What differentiates SOUNDRAW from prompt-based generators like Suno or Udio is its selection-and-edit workflow: rather than typing a text description, users choose parameters and then fine-tune the result bar-by-bar in an in-browser Mixer that can mute, solo, or adjust the intensity of individual instruments. A core part of SOUNDRAW's positioning is copyright safety. Its AI models are trained exclusively on music composed and recorded in-house by its own producer team rather than on scraped catalogs, which the company says gives every generated track a clean, worldwide commercial license with no gray areas or takedown risk. The platform supports genre-blending (for example combining Hip-Hop with Orchestral elements), stem exports for further mixing in a DAW, and has been used in mainstream collaborations with artists such as French Montana, Fivio Foreign, and Trippie Redd. Beyond the core web app, SOUNDRAW offers a developer API for embedding music generation into other products, plus native integrations with Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva, and Wondershare Filmora. SOUNDRAW serves two overlapping audiences: Creators, who need unlimited background music for videos, podcasts, apps, and games without worrying about copyright strikes, and Artists/producers, who want to distribute SOUNDRAW-derived tracks to streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music while retaining 100% of their song royalties. Enterprise and Store BGM plans extend the platform to businesses, video platforms, game studios, and physical retail spaces that need bulk or embedded music generation with dedicated support. Since its 2020 launch, SOUNDRAW has raised roughly $5 million across four funding rounds, including investment from Paul Rosenberg (Eminem's longtime manager), and has grown to over 557,000 registered creators, with international users making up more than a third of paying customers. In early 2025 it became the first AI music generator natively embedded inside Adobe Premiere Pro's editing timeline, letting editors generate and place music without leaving their video project.
