Pricing
CustomAthos Commerce uses flexible annual plan pricing with no published rate card — all plans require a demo and custom quote via athoscommerce.com/request-pricing.
Three plan tiers are available: Onsite Discovery covers search, merchandising, and personalization for your website with optional AI add-ons (AI Search, AI Merchandising, AI Product Recommendations, AI Bundling). Offsite Discovery covers product feed management across 1,400+ channels with optional AI Feed Management. The Intelligent Discovery Platform (Complete Discovery) combines both Onsite and Offsite under one contract with unified analytics and the Athos Console, plus access to all AI add-ons including AI Data Enrichment.
Three autonomous AI Agents are available as add-ons across plans: Conversational Assistant (available on Complete and Onsite Discovery), Channel Assistant (available on Complete and Offsite Discovery), and GEO Assistant (available across all plans). Every plan is underpinned by shared cloud infrastructure, analytics, open APIs, and pre-built integrations. Onsite and Offsite plans can be purchased independently and upgraded to the full Intelligent Discovery Platform at any point, with data and configurations carrying over.
FreeShopify Sidekick is included free with every Shopify plan at no additional cost, with no separate subscription or usage fee for the assistant itself. Availability of specific features and usage limits can vary by Shopify plan tier, merchant region, and feature rollout stage, so some capabilities may reach Basic, Grow, Advanced, or Plus merchants at different times. Since Sidekick is bundled into Shopify rather than sold separately, using it requires an active Shopify store subscription, which starts with Shopify's standard plans (a free trial and a promotional $1/month intro period are typically available for new stores).

Summary
Intelligent discovery for AI commerce — search, merchandising, personalization, and feed management in one platform
Shopify's free, built-in AI commerce assistant that chats, automates, and takes action in your store
Athos Commerce Pros & Cons
Pros
- Unified platform combining three market-leading products — Klevu AI search, Searchspring merchandising and personalization, and Intelligent Reach feed management under one roof
- 2,700+ global brand customers including SKIMS, Fabletics, West Elm, Moen, Ripcurl, and Specialized — among the largest customer bases in ecommerce search
- 1,400+ channel integrations for product feed syndication across every major marketplace, social platform, and AI discovery surface
- GEO Assistant makes your products visible in Google Gemini, ChatGPT, and AI shopping surfaces — purpose-built for the agentic commerce era
- 4.5/5 G2 and 4.7/5 Gartner Peer Insights with deep review history across both Klevu and Searchspring profiles
- Backed by PSG Equity with 140+ portfolio companies and 500+ acquisitions — growth capital and M&A expertise for continued platform expansion
Cons
- Custom pricing only — no self-serve sign-up; all plans require a demo and sales quote
- Three underlying products (Klevu, Searchspring, Intelligent Reach) still run on separate contracts and integrations — not yet a single unified platform under the hood
- Gartner and G2 reviews are split across Klevu and Searchspring profiles, making reputation research confusing for buyers new to the brand
- Primarily mid-market and enterprise — not well suited for small Shopify stores under ~$5M annual revenue or early-stage DTC brands
- The Athos brand is relatively new (January 2025) — some agencies and technology partners are still updating integrations and certifications
- AI Agents (Conversational, Channel, GEO) are add-ons at extra cost, not included in base plans
Shopify Sidekick Pros & Cons
Pros
- Completely free and bundled into every Shopify plan with zero setup or configuration required
- Deep, native access to real store data (products, orders, customers, analytics) that generic AI tools cannot see
- Multi-step task execution now covers real admin work: discounts, collections, custom apps, and Flow automations
- Always shows previews and requires merchant confirmation before applying changes, reducing the risk of breaking a live store
- Growing MCP-based third-party app integration (Klaviyo, Yotpo, Loop, Smile, and more) extends its reach beyond core Shopify data
- Respects existing staff permission levels, making it safe to roll out across a whole team
Cons
- Exclusively available to merchants already on the Shopify platform — not a standalone tool
- Feature availability and usage limits vary by Shopify plan, region, and rollout stage, so not every merchant sees the same capabilities at once
- Early versions (2024) were criticized as a Q&A tool with limited practical utility, and rebuilding trust with merchants who tried it once is an ongoing effort
- Third-party app actions via MCP extensions are limited to launch partners (Klaviyo, Judge.me, Yotpo, Loop, Smile, and a growing list) rather than universal app support
- Multi-step and agentic actions still require merchant review and confirmation before changes go live, which is safer but means it is not fully autonomous
