Freed is an ambient AI medical scribe and clinician assistant built specifically for independent clinics and small-to-midsized practices, rather than large hospital systems. Its core AI Scribe listens to a patient visit and generates a complete, specialty-specific SOAP note within about a minute, which clinicians can edit by voice or text, save as reusable templates, and push directly into any browser-based EHR with one click.

Beyond documentation, Freed's Clinical Evidence feature answers clinical questions with cited answers drawn from 50+ trusted medical sources, tailored to the patient in front of the clinician, while its Coding Assistant recommends ICD-10, CPT, and E/M codes at the highest justified level directly from the visit to speed up billing and reduce denials. In 2025 the company launched Front Desk, a separate AI medical receptionist (currently in beta) that answers overflow and after-hours patient calls, triages requests, and organizes everything into a shared, categorized inbox with two-way SMS.

Freed reports 98% recall on medical terms across 30+ specialties and is used by more than 26,000 clinicians at 1,300+ clinics, having transcribed over 32 million patient visits in 2025 alone. The platform is HIPAA-compliant and SOC 2 Type II certified, doesn't store patient audio recordings after processing, and has been covered by CNBC, Forbes, and the Wall Street Journal, along with a spot on CB Insights' 2025 Digital Health 50.

Freed was founded in 2023 by former Meta engineers Erez Druk (CEO) and Andrey Bannikov (CTO), inspired by Druk watching his wife, family physician Dr. Gabriella Meckler, chart late into the night.
