NotebookLM (Google)

The Audio Overview feature in NotebookLM generates a realistic two-host podcast summary of your documents. While the accuracy of the content is high due to its grounded AI nature, the voices and pacing are currently not customizable. This feature is still experimental, so future updates may include more customization options.

NotebookLM's 100% citation accuracy refers to its ability to correctly link answers to specific paragraphs within your provided sources. If a source document is poorly formatted or contains errors, NotebookLM will still cite the relevant (albeit flawed) text. It's crucial to ensure your source documents are as clean and accurate as possible to get the most reliable results.

Currently, NotebookLM operates independently and lacks a direct API or integrations with other Google Workspace apps. While there's no explicit integration with Google Docs or Drive, you can still upload documents stored in those services. Google may introduce tighter integrations in future versions, but there is no timeline available.

NotebookLM can process PDFs, but its performance with PDFs containing images or scanned documents depends on the quality of text extraction. If the text within a PDF image is not properly recognized, NotebookLM may struggle to accurately cite and synthesize information from those sections. For optimal results, ensure your PDFs have selectable text.
